Indoor Meetings

During the autumn/winter we have expert speakers to talk about a variety of wildlife topics. These can be talks on a particular species, habitats, local wildlife sites, the impact of global warming or even talks on wildlife outside of the UK. If there is a subject a member would like to hear about, we do our best to make it possible. Please find write-ups of some of our previous talks here.

iMeetings are held at the Brampton Memorial Centre, in Brampton, near Huntingdon during the winter months. Address: Brampton Memorial Centre, Thrapston Road, Brampton, Huntingdon. PE28 4TB.

Meetings start at 7.30 pm. Admission is free to members, £2.00 (refunded if you join on the night!) for visitors and guests. Everyone is welcome. Most talks are slide lectures or PowerPoint presentations. They are also available via Zoom for those who cannot travel. A programme of talks being held during the winter can be found on this website.

Field Trips

Field trips are held from April until October on Sunday afternoons on a monthly basis within the county of Huntingdonshire and also we occasionally have midweek trips. We visit a mixture of sites: some privately owned and other owned by wildlife organisations such as the Wildlife Trust, Woodland Trust and Froglife. The terrain can vary: woodland, meadows, fenland, quarries and restored sites. This is an opportunity to visit some places that you wouldn't normally get access to and meet experts in their field and have a guided tour by the warden to a site. The field trips include a popular Fungae Foray in October to finish off the season!
